OUR HISTORY

Finding herself in a precarious situation and trembling with fear, Annie spent three nights on the street. She had been searching for help but no resource had been able to accommodate her and, worse, no solution had been offered to her.

Annie’s situation is not unique. Many helpless women are faced with inadequate resources and see their situation rapidly deteriorate. They find themselves permanently exposed to dangers in the streets.

Maison Le Paravent, located in the Lower Laurentians, does not pass judgment on these women’s circumstances, and aims to provide them with a safe and inclusive space, not only where they can rest, but also where their needs are listened to and where every effort is made to help them regain their autonomy, their dignity, and a glimmer of hope in their lives.

At Maison le Paravent, we adopt a humane and compassionate approach centered on mutual aid and communication, with the collaboration of organizations that share our values. Thus, we can offer our clientele complete support by focusing on their physical, mental, and financial health.
